Voices of Women 2022

PROGRAM OUTLINE

Do you write monologues or short stories in the first person?

Would you like to be the Voices of Women Artist in Residence for our International Womens Day celebrations in Wagga Wagga 2022?

We are celebrating women’s voices in a collage of monologues, to be presented live, filmed and live streamed.

In collaboration with Eastern Riverina Arts, Booranga Writers' Centre, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery and Voices of Women we invite all Wagga Wagga regional women writers to submit their interest in becoming Artist in Residence.

Submit your interest to take part, and if selected, your stories will be developed and presented live by trained actors at an event at the Art Gallery on Saturday 5 March.

We are looking for stories of 800 words (4-5 minutes), spoken in the first person around the theme of Entanglement: how do we connect? We love powerful stories from diverse communities, are particularly interested in First Nations writers, and welcome emerging or established writers.

You will work online with the Artistic Director of Voices of Women, Lliane Clarke, to prepare your work. Once the stories are finalised, you will be invited to an open rehearsal, and then hear your work performed. Your work will be filmed and released online, and you will also become eligible to enter for the film Entanglement Amplify, which will be shot in four countries in 2022/23.

All writers selected will be paid as Artists in Residence.
